It is paid on the 7th of the month, or as near to that as possible if there is a bank holiday or whatever.0

It's paid out on either the 5th or the 7th (can't remember which) of every month for 9 months as this is the same date that payment for acc is required at most Scottish university owned halls. Your first installment will be double what you'll recieve every month afterwards to help you buy textbooks and booze during freshers! I'm a Scottish national studing within Scotland to. It's different south of the border.
About amending your details: Fill out the form with your current details and send it away to SAAS. It should be very simple to phone them up at a later stage to change these. I had to change my details when I switched my UCAS from an English to a Scottish uni and it was done within 5 minutes over the phone.
Hope you enjoy your studies.
Very informative post, thank you.
My partner and I are going to fill out the applications and hope for the best!

Student loans get paid on the 7th of each month that you're physically at uni (so no payments over summer), you're expected to budget for summer months or get a job. The SAAS form is a nightmare but it is best to fill it out as in your situation now or wait until July and fill it in. If you apply early July you should get your loan by start of semester.0
