I changed my gas/electric suppler about 10 days ago, gave them all my direct debit details which they confirmed was OK and they told me I would be switched over to them in about a months time.

I had a letter from them this morning to say that my current supplier has raised an objection to them taking over my supply, and I will have to contact them to have it lifted.

Anybody know why, I thought that it could be done between the suppliers, as they always keep telling us .

I dont owe them money, I pay direct debit.

    Hi there,

There are only two reasons for an objection.

    1. Debt

    2. You have a 2 meter supply and the incoming company has only taken one meter.

You state you have a DD, however your DD will be terminated on the move over to the new supplier and any outstanding balance will be due.

As such you may actually have a debt.

    Hope that helps
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...
