Card Protection - Sentinel Gold

Just received renewal notice for Credit Card Sentinel service, which has gone up from £39 for 3 years to £70 for same period, with excuse of additional benefits and change of name to "Sentinel Gold". Naturally, you cannot have the old benefits at the old price!
Scanning the web and these forums for alternatives, I can find articles on PPI, but not on this service (primarily cancellation and replacement of credit cards if lost/stolen) other than references to others who are similarly paying a lower rate at present, but renewal rate is also £70 (eg. CCG).
Anyone know of alternatives?

Hi - Maybe a bit late for your post but I just received a renewal for £70 for 3 years so started looking for alternatives.
CPP are coming in a little more expensive but I've seen a few bad reviews for them anyway!!
One I found is travellersos (.co.uk) (Martin - You can become an affiliate and earn a bit of cash here ?!) which is currently £14.95/year = £44.85/3 years.
Don't know if they are any good but I'm just looking around at the moment.0 -
I'm trying to find the best price for card protection cover & considering identity protection too if can get a good price (refuse to pay £7ish pm for this). Had a NatWest policy - renewal quote is £36.99 for the year - sure it was £20 last year...I can only find CPP or Sentinel Gold selling card protection costing £35 or £39.95 pa. Does anyone know of a cheaper deal or a discount code or a cashback link for card protection? and possibly cheap identity protection on top? I know I may get people telling me I don't need this...but I had my purse nicked in Italy a few years back & I called the card protection number & had all my cards cancelled within 5 mins. In that time the thief managed to take £2k off my switch card at the bureau de change & thief had already attempted to start taking money off the next card but was prevented! Appreciate any feedback.0

If you are prepared to open an extra current account, or change your bank, Norwich and Peterborough building society are offering card protection free, also free debit card use abroad. They dont currently offer faster payments though.
You need to fund the account with £500 per month, it allows you to have a regular saver paying 5% for £250 per month too.
