Well i got my credit report a few months ago (more like 6 odd!) and so i have a couple of questions.
1) Should i bother to get it again just now, as i know it will be awful, and not a great deal has changed? When do you recommend i get one if not now?
2) On one of the addresses i put in (my address i lived with my mum at) a couple fo my mum's credit thingies have come up because we both have the first intial (A!). Is this normal? She has very good credit, so its not negatively affecting me?
sorry if this doesnt make sense I am incredibly tired and finding it difficult to string a sentance together! :rotfl:

Really you should make sure that any accounts that are not yours are removed from your account. Yes they might have good repayments etc but if they are incorrectly listed as yours then they might be showing as available credit to you meaning that when you apply for more credit it will see you already have X amount and reject you because you are borrowing over what you can afford etc.
Always best to get the correct information on there - bad or otherwise - in my oppinion
Yes get a copy of your current one - I check mine monthly but I'm paranoid! I don't want any nasty surprises popping up and it's a good place to spot any fraudulent activity that you might have missed like people taking out credit in your name...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Thanks Tine
I was always confused about my mum being on there, and thought it was "normal" if its the same address... bless me... only just sat here thinking about it thinking... "but its MY credit report" :rotfl: Will get onto that now.

And if you credit record is not great, and any of your accounts are mixed up in mum's record, it could affect her.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
-
Yeah i thought about that too RAS... thankfully mum lives in Ireland and doesnt believe in "credit" as such, and only has the one CC, but if she did come back to live in UK and i had messed her credit rating up she would be livid! :eek:Debt: just my mortgage0

Well you can't "mess up" her credit really
even if there are any issues then she just has to write to the credit ref agency and have the accounts belonging to you removed from her credit file and make sure that you are financially dis-associated
Yeah it can take a month for it to show but it's not permanent damage if your account is accidently associated with hers so don't panic

Ok, have just got my report.
My credit score is "Very Poor" :wall: I knew it wasnt great, but didnt think it was that bad...
Anyway, have checked and my mum isnt on there (i vaugely remember talking to someone last year about, so must of taken her off).
I have quite a few loans on the report that are complete and showing as settled but still there. Is that ok?
I also have a debt to Next (which i have had no idea about) for £96. I can clear that today, so im going to do that.
How long do you think it will take for my credit report to show i have paid next?
What sort of things can i do to increase my score?
(sorry for all the silly questions!)

Closed (settled) accounts will remain on the file for six yaers after they were settled.
The Next account will show as settled next month when Next update the credit reference agencies.0 -
Do you have any CCJ's or Defaults? Why is your score 'poor'?0
-
I knew it wouldnt be straight forward.
Next have said they have forwarded debt to a DCA. They gave me the details. I phoned them and they have no record of the debt at my address/in my name.
Because i havent got any of my Next statements etc. with me she couldnt check via my customer number. She said her previous caller had the same problem.
Cant even pay the bloomin thing! :rotfl:Debt: just my mortgage0 -

The Next account defaulted 8 times ( ), and a capital one debt i had defaulted 6 times (this has now been passed to a DCA and i have arranged to pay £50 monthly). I cant see any CCJs on there, does that mean i dont have any?
Sorry i know i sound rubbish, but i really didnt pay attention to my debts etc for a few years.Debt: just my mortgage0
