Hi everyone,
A lot of you probably know that they have had a fire at Screenselect which deals with the tesco dvd rental.
I am paying for a service, however dvds are not coming through. They have mentioned compensation, but so far they are still not telling us how much they will credit us back, or indeed how long this poor service will continue.
Does anyone know any more details ? as I think it may be best to deregistar before my next months payment is taken out.
Thanks

we're in the same boat. We had one sent last week which OBVIOUSLY had been damaged, and sent it back. We've not had a replacement or any acknowledgement that it's been received. We thought we'd swop and try tesco's service, but I have to say I'm seriously thinking about going back to Amazon ... we're lucky if we get one disc a week so far ... and that's watching them pretty much the first night they come and mailing them straight back again.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

People really should stop burning so many dvds.

Is that ironic humour?
Maybe someone should report Screen Select for burning all their DVD's.

seems their resuming a reasonable service as i have returned one on the 5th and have one dispatched which i would proberly get tomorrow...thing is if your selection is only the most recent new releases...then its difficult for them to guarantee every two days..if you give them some leway with maybe some not so recent films you get a decent service...i manage to get an average of 7-8 dvds a month so approx. £1 per film with the membership fees which is good as you dont get no late return fees and petrol expenses!0

I use Tesco DVDrental for my parents. Here is part of an e-mail received yesterday about the fire.
We are writing regarding the fire that we suffered in our DVD rental warehouse on 1 September, which has caused some delays in turning around your DVDs over the last few days. We want to give you an update and some good news.
We now know that the fire started in another unit on our business park, and spread through five other units - reaching our warehouse last. The emergency services' response was fantastic, and they managed to prevent the fire from spreading to much of our facility. Nobody was hurt, but there was water damage and fire damage.
This had the following impact on our service last week:
We did not lose any days of processing returned DVDs and new DVDs.
We lost 2 days of dispatching DVDs - Friday 2nd and Monday 5th September.
We resumed dispatching DVDs on Tuesday 6th September, 3 working days after the fire.
We are now operating at normal weekly volumes. As usual, the majority of our dispatches are members' top choices.
Our website and customer data is stored securely in another location and was completely unaffected.
We are very sorry for the few days of disruption. We will credit your account with one week's FREE service as compensation. This compensation will be applied no later than Friday September 16th provided your account remains active. It will take effect on your next billing date.
We want to thank you for your patience and support. We are here to help you with anything relating to your membership - check our help section for queries or to contact us.
Hope this information is of use0
