May be infected

Hi all,
Am at wits end, I have a pc that has been turning itself off and restarting after about 2 minutes use, this goes on adinfinitum.

The only way I can stop it is by running in safe mode using system restore and the pc is fine after that for the session. I have run a full system scan using avast which finds nothing.

However when I turn the pc off and restart, the problem reappears.
From a quick search of the forum it appears I have an infection with a Blaster type virus. However my antivirus just cant seem to find it.

Any ideas?

Have a look at the "free online scanners" sticky at the top of this forum. Run the likes of kaspersky or eset and they should sort it out.

Also go through the malware sticky while your at it.

Try start, run

shutdown -a

to stop it shutting down.
