in Credit cards
Hi guys,
I'm new here so please forgive me if I've missed a blatently obvious section.
I am leaving the UK (I'm a UK resident) for a month round Europe on the 6th May. Myself & a friend will then be heading out to S.E Asia including Laos, Vietnam, Thailand & Singapore.
I am looking for a credit card that would be best suited to this purpose (ie. no fees for international withdrawals).
I plan on using my CC as a debit card (ie. paying it off straight away) so interest charges aren't really a concern.
The only problem is that I leave in 6 days. I'm with HSBC so I presume it'd be better to go with them if possible?
Any advice?
Many thanks
Adam

Cards issued by Nationwide or the Post Office do not charge Commission on foreign currency transactions.
Don't use for cash withdrawals though otherwise you will pay interest from the date of the withdrawal.0 -

As you say there would be no charges for withdrawal of ( your own )cash.Peter0 -
A Nationwide Flexaccount is a debit Visa card so would serve the purpose.

Sure, if the Debit Card option is used with a Nationwide Flexaccount, then cash withdrawals are not a problem.
I've just seen that the OP is leaving in 6 days - realistically I don't think they will sort out a new card in that time, so I think they will just have to use what they already have, but make sure they know the Terms and Conditions of what they are using.0 -

Goldfish i24 (or the Morgan Stanley variant) is OK, but you have to pay for it. Can't remember how much off the top of my head, but it's not cheap!0

Hi Guys and Gals,
Has anybody heard of FairFX card,
Its a pre-paid Visa or Master Card in Euros or Dollars. with no additional charges. the only charge is £1.00 for ATM withdrawals. of which I thought was great. best of all you get a fabulous exchange rate. and no worries about forgetting to pay it off each month your away.
If you run out of Euro's or dollars, just pop in to an internet cafe or such like and top it up for free...
mine arrived 4 days after order
and best of all no need to carry any cash about.......
take a look if you travel its well worth it, well I thought so anyway.
