cahoot - warning incorrect tax deduction info

Hi,

A warning to cahoot account holders who have to complete tax returns.

Just checked online to see if they have posted the tax deduction information yet - and they have: for the wrong tax year ! Some idiot there has typed in 2007 instead of 2008. It is not just the year that is wrong, the figures displayed are actually those for the 2006-7 tax year - so don't copy them into your tax return for 2007-8.

Oh -and their contact phone number is now 'number unobtainable' !

This lot are just a joke, I'll be closing my account just as soon as I get the correct tax deduction figures.

I'm not sure quite what your problem is. The data shown is correct. They just haven't yet replaced the 2006-7 figures with those for 2007-8.

The data for 2007-8 is still arriving in the post this week from several other savings institutions.

Uh, no typo, as you point out yourself. The figures they state are for the 2007 tax year, are indeed for the 2007 tax year. Figures for the 2008 tax year are in the post at the moment, and should be with you any time now. They get sent by postcode, and many of my customers in Oxford got theirs this morning. They should all dormat by the middle of May.

I received an email from Cahoot, in response to my complaint, admitting it was a mistake and that they were having difficulty posting the correct years figures online. (There were no figures on there for several weeks before the previous years details were posted on the last day in April). So there.
