A&L Plus Saver

I've had an email from A&L saying their plus saver rate is now 5.5% including a bonus of 0.75%. When I checked on their website interest rates it says the bonus is only for accounts opened after 1st January 2008. Which is correct I wonder

According to the interest rates leaflet which they've just sent to me, the basic rate for PlusSaver is 4.75% (from 3rd March)

If your account was opened before 01.10.07, then that's the rate you'll get.

If your account was opened between 01.10.07 and 31.12.07, then you get a bonus of 0.75%, but that will only apply until 31.12.08.

If your account was opened after 01.01.08, then you get a bonus of 0.75%, but that will only apply until 31.03.09.


So when did you open the account ? If it was after 01.10.07, then you will get 5.5% (i.e. 4.75% plus bonus of 0.75%).

Looks like the info on my leaflet is inconsistent with what they've published on the Website though, so it might be worth you asking A&L for a definitive answer.
