Problem with sound on iPlayer and Youtube

My PC has recently developed a problem playing sound with iPlayer and youtube - both are completely silent. I can still hear music files and the sound from 4oD fine, so it seems to be limited to sounds with explorer.

The "play sounds in explorer" option is activated, and all of the volume controls for my sound card are up to full volume, any ideas on how to hear sound again?

Comments

  • Both Youtube and the streaming part of iplayer use the Adobe Flash player plug in, so the first thing to try is going to Adobe.com and downloading the latest version of the plug in.
Use the browser you wish to view the clips in because there are different versions for different browsers and the site auto selects one for you.
Also take take to deselect the install Google toolbar option (unless you actually want it).
