This is my first post so I hope it is the sort of thing people will want to know. BT have a well kept secret called 118707, this is the cheapest telephone directory enquiries on the market at just 24.7p plus VAT per call so 29p inc VAT. Onetel do offer it free of service but you have to open an account with them first so there obviosly costs involved (line rental etc).
It is officially a corporate directory enquiry service but they don't track calls so anyone can use it. It works exactly the same as the old 192, you phone up get your number and get off the phone, it doesn't offer call connect so has no hidden charges, it is a one off fixed fee service.
Good service I use it all the time. They even have a free website you can use which is a spin off from their 118500 service http://www.118500.com
Thanks

Use 0800 0192 190 instead (it's free).Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -

It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Our work phones will only let us dial 118707 for directory enq's. Any other 118 number will fail to connect. What;s the free one all about? can anyone use it? I could get a monetary award for a 'bright idea scheme'NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0
