Dwell

Dwell home furniture store.
Just had to get this of my chest. What a pain in the backside.
Nice catalogue, nice showroom, conveniently close to work, nice website and nice adverts in The times and BBC Good Homes mag.
Adverts state everyhting delivered speedily from stock.
Not.
We placed an order on Jan 31st after checking the stock ( expected Feb)
Tracked the order in Feb, now expected March.
Tracked the order in March now, you guessed it expected May!!
Finally arrived last weekend.
Flat packed. Great. One piece of A4 with drawings and arrows showing how to assemble the piece.
I thought it may end up going out the window after my husband wrestling with it for 4 hours!! The final straw was ,once it was all together, we made a start on the drawers only to find the holes in the cabinet dont line up and the so they drawers wont slide properly. Hubby fixed it.
We took another look at the catalogue, the pieces that are ready made say "comes assembled" ones that need assembling dont say anything. Cant say I spent much time reading every description to realise this first. Hummph!
The furniture is nice. BUT. We wanted a sleek modern look and so we ordered white high gloss shelves and a tv unit. When they eventually arrived we found they had a horrible metal "dwell" sticker right on the front! Yuck.
I managed to get a piece of cotton under them and prise them off, except for one of them which popped of and cracked the glaze.
Because our order arrived in 2 deliveries I e mailed them and asked them to ensure that any future furniture did not have any stickers on as this was ruining the look and was not shown on any furniture in store, on the web or in the catalogue.
They didnt even bother to reply and low and behold the next piece has a horrible metal sticker on.
Never again. Thanks for reading I feel better now!!
