Condemned Boiler - Can They Be Fixed?

My boiler's been condemned today after having Transco out 3 times due to my house and next doors smelling of gas  The 3rd time the bloke stuck a sticker on saying 'Do Not Use' and told me to phone the housing to sort it, will they try to fix it or will it be replaced? Also how long will they take to sort it? We have no heating, thankfully we have an immersion heater for hot water but we have a 3 year old so no heating isn't good.
My house is owned by a local housing association by the way.
