sounds a little strange.
I recieved my renewal letter for my car post office insurrance and noticed it was twice the amount i was paying.
i called them to find out why and i was informed a cliam was made against me last year.
i did report an accident last year as i nudged the car in front of me at a round about, however i was never informed that a claim had been made,
is the the norm, if you report an incedent do insurance companies pay out and not inform you?

Depends on the circumstances. If you informed them of the incident, and then the third party put in a relatively low-value claim that was entirely consistent with your version of events then there would not really be much point in liaising with you.0

Doesn't sound strange to me either, as raskazz said."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Insurer won't dispute the claim unless you categorically say that it was not your fault and you sent them details of incidents in writing. Also, unless you ask them explicitly, they don't usually inform you how much money they have paid to 3rd party.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0
