Potential Tesco loophole: £3 worth of Clubcard points with a £1 spend

What's the deal?

If you're saving up for Tesco Clubcard deals, there's potentially a great way of boosting your Tesco Clubcard points stash. Spend £1 on some pink table confetti, and you'll get 75 extra Clubcard points, worth £3 if converted to Tesco Clubcard Deals.

Sadly confetti stocks do seem to be a bit patchy, and the press office wouldn't confirm the offer, but we wanted to give you a heads up, just in case.

Never ever spend Tesco Clubcard vouchers in store

While the 75 points would only be worth 75p when redeemed in stores, exchange them for Clubcard Deals Tokens and they're worth four times as much. You can then spend them on days out, holiday vouchers, RAC membership and more (see the brochure). For more detailed info on why you should never spend them in Tesco stores read the Loyalty Schemes article.

What do I have to do?

Get down to your local Tesco and head for the party and entertainment aisle. Seek out the pink table confetti, which should have a 75 extra points sticker by it. To find your nearest store use Tesco's store locator.

The offer's valid until 1 June 2008, though stocks are likely to run out way before this, since the offer's been included in the weekly email. If you spot any similar extra points offers, please post below to share them with other MoneySavers.

PS. This deal was originally spotted by MoneySaver super_dad below. Thanks for the top spot! This post has been inserted to provide a more detailed explaination and research for MoneySavers coming from the weekly email

I was in tesco about 2 hours ago and in the "party" section they had a SEL which said "50 extra points on selected products". One of those products appeared to be a set of paper cups at 50p.

    50 points = £2.

Last year was the magnetic frames and 100 points (£1.47), so this is slightly better.

    Seen in Kidderminster store.

Also, travel insurance, annual for single person. £17 nand 1000 points = £40 in deals.

    coolio!!!

Sorry to sound a bit dense:o but will this be 50pts per pack of cups bought or just 50pts per transaction?
Would like to boost my points to see if i can get some money off a wee holiday for me and my son later in the year!:D
    TIA

I saw something similar in my tesco (northampton) but as staff were in the middle of moving stuff around - there was no stock - just empty shelves with some sel lables.

They were in the stationery aile and sel looked something similar to:

    ?so many? extra points
    price
    describtion

I do remember a storage file (like to store bills ect in) as i looked twice at this and worked out the points and this was priced at £17.00 with 400 extra points.

Will try to have another look tomorow as they may have fininshed moving stuff around and re-stocking shelves.

It would appear that the cheapest cups under the '50 extra points' offer are priced at £1.50.:(

you're in greece this weekend.. that's funny, i'm in greece (corfu) on monday.

Ok, the travel insurance is in a DVD type pack and is in our local store, and i've seen it in wolverhampton store too.

In our stores there is a large rack of "insurance type" stuff. It says 1000 points with each insurance policy (then goes on to say couple, family and single person). single person was £17

    Have a good holiday

I went to Tesco, Crooksfoot, Ashford, yesterday and some of their stationery had 50 points on. I bought some felt pens for £2. Other items were more expensive so not such a good buy!
