Hi,
I have had a HSBC cc for years I would quite like the 0% cc.
If I cancel my existing card which has a zero balance how long would it be before I am considered a new customer worthy of the o% for a year??
Any advice appreciated!

Hi,
Thanks for that!
My OH has 2 CC with Halifax he applied online and they gave him the 0% as well as his existing card. :j Might try and phone HSBC but only have an 0845 number...[0 -
You left Halifax's card and then rejoined after 30 days and got the 0%? I was told on the phone the other day that I wouldn't be able to do that! I'll be on the phone to them again tomorrow if this is the case.
However the guy also said I could just go and get a BoS card instead...
In my experience customer advisors tend to talk a load of crap so I didn't take the risk of canceling my card.Kavanne

Hmmm
Just phoned them and they said 6 months!! And offered me a BT for 6mths at 5.ish not good at all!!!![0 -
If you cancel your card, you need to wait 6 months.
You will only get 0% for a year, retentions can't even do 0% on a balance transfer, most of the time. Staff get something like 11.4%.
The thing with any bank is your behavour score. The better your behavour score is the more you can get and will be worth retaining. The better deals you will be offered.
It can be boosted by never using an ATM (Cashback only) and lots of credits, e.g. one big transfer to a savings and lots off little transfers back.

Hi,
I would assume I have quite a good behaviour score cos I still have most of my accounts with them ISAs etc, and I hardly ever use an ATM. (Do need to find better interest rates etc tho!)
Maybe now is the time to swap
