Londoners: Free £10 Oystercard Prepay Credit!
Comments

Money_Man_Steve wrote:- once you order the prepay, you have to 'activate' your Oystercard for the auto top-up service by using it at a tube station of your choice within seven days of registering. You have to specify which tube station you will use to activate your card when you register for auto top-up. If you don't activate your card within seven days of registering for auto top-up online, your purchase is cancelled and you have to re-register for the service.
When you say the purchase is cancelled...
Does that mean just that the 'activation' is cancelled - and the money remains in your Oyster account, and you just need to phone LUL and ask for a new activation window?
Or does it mean the money is refunded to your credit card? (remembering you have also paid £3 for the deposit for the card)
Or does it mean you have lost the £10 (£20-£10 discount) or whatever you prepaid, and will have to pay again?
Secondly - for those of us who are self-employed, are we able to get a complete list of journeys online for use for accounts..?
Thanks in advance,
William0 -

As I understand it, if you didn't collect the auto top-up instruction within a week of requesting it, the purchase is cancelled and refunded to your credit card. I expect you'd lose the £10 free credit too (unless you applied for and activated auto top-up again while the offer was still on).WilliamT wrote:When you say the purchase is cancelled...

You can't get a list of journeys charged to the card online at the moment - only a balance. You can view journeys on ticket machines at tube stations, but you can't print them out.
There's a whole FAQ section on www.oystercard.com, but otherwise maybe Saffie (our resident LUL employee/expert
) can advise further...? 0 -
Wouldn't say expert!! Just know my job!!
If you want a print out of your daily journeys all you need to do is go to a ticket office after your last journey of the day and ask for a print out. They will do it for you and it only takes a minute. Be warned though, what we can and can't do with your card is limited. I.e. we cannot back tract for past days/tickets, or access your personal information at the ticket office. We can give you the last eight journeys on the print out, (may be slightly more, can't remember). Just remember that every time you make a journey you are pushing one journey off your print out list, so if you travel a lot you may want to get a print out mid day as well. This is the case with all oyster cards it makes no difference it you have a travelcard or pre pay.
Hope this helps.

Just thought I'd post an update - the £10 free credit offer is still available and has been extended to the first 20,000 customers who sign up for auto top-up.
Tell everyone you know in London to claim their free tenner!0 -
Is the offer over? Doesn't have the little picture on the website advertising it anymore.你是废纸!!!1110
