Charging a USA Ninteno DS in the UK

Hi,
We are going to buy a DS when we go to the USA soon. We already have a UK DS.

What I want to know.....

Can we charge the USA DS, with the UK standard DS charger (when we get back to the UK)? Or do we have to buy a transformer/adaptor?

Can we charge my UK DS in the USA, with the lead we get with the new DS?

sorry to sound confusing!

Am I right in thinking that the actual console is identical to the UK one, apart from the lead that it comes with? I mean, are the consoles the same voltage etc??

Thanks!

One thing to keep in mind is that you won't be covered by the warranty using a US DS in the UK. Nintendo seem to be one of those companies that only stick to the legal minimum when transferring warranties to different countries.

I bought a USB charger off ebay a while back (admittedly for my UK DS) but I've used it to keep mine charged on the other side of the pond. They're pretty cheap, just have a look for NDS USB on ebay.

Yes it will work fine for over here.

Brought a couple back from over there and just used the standard uk ones.

Im not sure about charging ones over there with american type but i dont see it would be a problem really.

Just make sure your mains charger has a wide input voltage range ie 100-250 V for example (should be on a label on the charger stating the input voltage), and then you can use the same charger anywhere (as long as you have an adapter to suit the different pin styles on the plug).

Took my sons DS to USA 3 weeks ago and used this method with no problems.
