Could you ring tax credits today, just to get the ball rolling regarding changing where the money is paid in?Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

be careful with your account - a couple of yrs ago, i went overdrawn and out of the blue i got a letter off the tsb telling me they were closing my account in a fortnights time:eek:
i've got a basic bank account now that doesn't have a debit card or cheque facility. so if there's no money in i can't go overdrawn.0 -

I shouldnt be getting charged until the end of the month anyway and im no longer overdrawn as my tax credits went in yesterday. But im going to try and open another bank account on tuesday.
I think i do need a basic account but im such a twit, always forgetting to withdraw money and theres no cashpoint near me so a debit card is handy. Too handy probably:rolleyes:'They only had one cow!'0 -

Excellent Idea Sarah, OP just make sure the new bank account is not associated in anyway to your exisiting bank."Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does, except wrinkles.
