Which photo is most important?

Hi!
After my partners house being for sale for months (I know its the same for a lot of people at the moment) we are looking at alternative promotion of his house rather than an estate agency, also his estate agency are closing the branch in our town so he may be leaving them anyway....
Basically I have an opportunity to place an advert for him in a new local community magazine for free but only have a half-page slot, which is only enough room for one picture, once I have added a brief description and price.
So I need to know which pic is the most important? I have gone for the lounge at the moment as it is a nice neutral room and looks nice and bright on the pic. I decided against the one of the front of the house as his house is forecourted and its hard to get a good one without standing in the middle of the main road, plus I figured if I didn't show inside, people may be suspicious that its a dive inside! lol
So yeah, any thoughts would be appreciated
Sarah

The outside in my opinion. You can change interior but can't change the outside structurally! I was avoiding certain "types" of house, eg ex council and favoured 1930s semis. It also gives an idea of the type of street/area the house is in.0

outside definitely... a lounge is a very personable space and in any case is easily changed/looks completely different depending on the furniture + doesn't really tell you much about the property.
whereas the front of the property is pretty permanent + the buyer can judge to a certain degree how big the rooms are going to be, whether the property will be light and airy or dark and dingy, whether it is in a good state of repair or not if i t is the type of property they like - newbuild/georgian/pebbledash!!
If you need to stand in the middle of the street to take the photo can you get someone to stop the traffic for you??
Also why does it have to be just one photo - surely it's just limited to a single image file of a certain size
- nothing to stop you creating a montage of 2-3 pics - eg. a big picture of the outside with two little pictures of rooms as one image file?0 -
Definitely the outside. But if you grab yourself some free webspace you can upload as many pictures/further details as you want and simply put the www address in the advert (pick a free host/name that's easy to type!)Hi!

I am only looking for certain types of houses. Certain looks. When I can't see the outside I assume they're hiding something. Interior pictures quite often all look the same and an interior can be remodelled. The exterior is something a buyer is stuck with.0 -
The outside. Only use inside ones if you are selling a flat or really ugly house! And do shamelessly promote any other places you have it advertised. Website address, contact details etc. Check them a athousand times, our local paper has put in the wrong contact number for us, the wrong advert etc!
Also, try and get a sunny day... Everywhere always looks better with a bit of sunshine on it.
Best of luck with your sale.May GC - £100 per week
