Thanks pokem02. I see that PCWorld have the RAC Sat Nav 200 for £79 delivered. Doesn't mention about the Fixed safety camera alerts with free updates though... any idea if it's an RAC website special, or if it applies to the satnav wherever you get it from?

    Cheers

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

It's available on http://www.66.com/rac/ - have a look near the bottom of the page, under the 'Downloads' section.

The RAC 200 is a good buy because you get the free camera updates but i'm not sure that it includes the mobile sites(policemen with the speed guns or the vans) like the one on pocketworldgps, I know the pocketworldgps database is £19 a year but one speeding fine is £60 + points + increased insurance, your choice?!

The Garmin camera database for UK only is £29.99 a year.

    Thanks Sillygoose, working now.

Just for the record, some of the Garmin satnavs use the Cyclops database, which includes fixed, mobile, SPECS, Truvelo etc. See the range at http://www.cyclops-uk.com/ and click on the Buy Online link at the top. Think they're a bit expensive from there though...

I know they cover all the different cameras because I have had a Cyclops for the last 4 years and it's picked up all the various different ones. Accuracy is excellent as well and it's updated frequently.

I'm probably going to get the RAC one as it's for my father and he needs the simplest one there is :) I'll let everyone know how well it works once I get it and play around for a bit.

    Cheers

Price includes 6 months free subscription. Subsequent subscription charge of £3.99 per month by direct debit, a minimum 12 month contract is required

I read that as 'You HAVE to subscribe for 12 months after the 6 month free period'

I may well be wrong though, it wont be the first time or the last.:D
  • Am unsure whether to go for the Navigo GPS Sat Nav - UK Maps - Full Postcode Search - 3.5" Screen ALSO plays MP3 for £65 or the MyGuide 3100 for 70. any help?

I've got the Navigo but i find the screen isn't very responsive. Ebuyer have the 3100 for £69.99 and it comes with a mains charger. Its easy to add mp3/video player(HPC media player(ARM version)). The original software on the 3100 is better because its IGO based.
