Hi have been e baying for some while but never sold anything big.
I would like to sell my sons trike, but I am not sure if it is worth the hassle in terms of sorting out a courier, packaging etc.
Can anyone help please?
What sort of packaging do I need, who are the best/cheapest couriers to use, how do I get the bike to them?
Many thanks

I feel the same . I need to send an Atari console which is quite big and have been quoted £9.30 via Royal Mail as Standard Parcel . Will it be safer and possible cheaper to use an alternative method?0

theres quite a few couriers about now, i always use supaparcels myself.
its less than £8 per parcel, they booking system is quick and easy, they ship via a few different couriers, but i always use dhl48 (they tend to arrive next working day anyway). you can also pay by paypal, so no messing about.
and they collect it from your door on your selected date, give you online tracking number and is insured up to £50, you can also purchase extra insurence if its a high value item.
as for packageing, its always best to use a box. but i have had items delivered in doubled up bin sacks!.

I would try to get a box for it and wrap it well with bubble wrap and tape.
I have used a few couriers for things. Parcel force (though these can be expensive), www.senditnow.com, also looking at www.parcel2go.co.uk recently for some big parcels that I will be posting soon. If you just use a search engine and put 'couriers' you should find one. Its quite easy to be honest, I was a little dubious on my first one too. Though you do need to measure the box and weigh it too.:dance:0 -
You could always state that the person buying is responsible for collection/arranging a courier and therefor charge no postage on your listing. I've done that before on large items.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000 -
