Given its only really a good deal if you are moving from a BT Line thats out of contract, and that Talk Talk dont connect new lines etc
Perhaps MSE could mention these facts to help and guide people when recommending it in his newsletter etc, or when he rewrites Home Phone article.0 -

On March 16th 2008, I signed up with a TalkTalk package online. I got an order number and an estimated 'go live' date of 16th April.
On April 10th, I checked progress and it said that my welcome pack had been posted out, I hadn't received it so emailed to that effect. On the same day I contacted my current supplier to cancel my contract with them; they advised me to have a disconnection date of 30th April in case the 'go live' date was delayed.
Four days after sending the email I got a reply from Talktalk to say they couldn't find my order. I gave them all of the details again, including the order number. Another four days later another reply stating that they still couldn't find the order.
I phoned customer services, who told me that my order had been cancelled automatically (probably by computer error) on 27th march!!! I said this was pretty poor but they just needed to get my phone live with them by 30th April, or my line would be cut off and I would face a re-connection fee. Sorry, not possible, BT needed 10 working days to do the changeover apparently, so there is absolutely nothing I could do other than go back to my original supplier and ask them to continue with my service.
Must say that my current supplier, Utility Warehouse have been brilliant.
Talktalk is a definite Nono for me I'm afraid!:mad:0
