Some of you may remember my earlier posts about my son and his applying for IB.Well 5 months on and still we have managed to get no further forward really, so I really need some more advice please.
We did get a letter last month telling us his qualifying period for Incapacity benefit(youth rules)was 1st sept 07-22nd march 08 and that he had to put in a signed form to request the claim for incapacity benefit to start on 23rd March. We did that and they apparantly have not recieved it in the post." requests for another form have not come to anything either. They really are messing him around.
My main question is about the qualifying period for IB under the youth rules, will he get any money for that period at all. They have all the medical forms etc for those 5 months.I just feel that this is dragging on way too long and son is getting more ill over this.
Any advice especially on the QF for IB youth rules much appreciated.

Yes,its on the benefits section.I have had some success this afternoon with the BA,they have awarded son IB from 22nd March. Now I have to find out if he can get anything backdated for the previous period while he was too young for IB.The IB and IS claims were made at the same time but IS closed the claim because we didnt provide med certs, actually we did but the IB people had them. Its been quite a fight and very stressfull,I hope I never have to claim any benefits for myself,it an absolute nightmare."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
