Do you still need to use an RCD when mowing the lawn.?

Yes, it offers a faster trip (if it's a good one) and it won't trip off the whole ring circuit either.

Do you have an RCD in your consumer unit or just MCBs? My parents had a problem with a fridge which was tripping the main RCD so they tried using a plug-in RCD on the fridge. Unfortunately the plug-in RCD was less sensitive so the main RCD continued to trip. Maybe it wasn't a very good one.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

I would: the RCD for your lawn mower will be monitoring the current *just* for your lawnmower, rather than the all the mains sockets on the circuit.

It's an extra layer of protection, and it's closer to the device in question... kind of makes sense to use it... but then I'm no expert on these matters!

I would still use one, I have MCBs int he CU and a socket int he grage with a built in RCD for mowing the lawn etc.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
