personally i would request the advertised cost, or the whole system falls apart. up to seller to check likely costs BEFORE the ypost something..
practically though, were you expecting to pay just xx for posting the item? i am sure you can negotiate 1/2 figure..
though may be worth reporting, in case they are trying it on more than once..?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -

Hello npsmama
I'll move your thread to the 'In my home' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

This is just one site, mama, put 'blue slate chippings' into google, you will find lots of suppliers. Probably a wholesaler there somewhere.0 -
Where are you npsmama, we have bought it in the past for £75 a tonne.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Hi op,
We bought some from Jewson's (after phoning around/visiting a few builders merchants) Don't forget to add on VAT and delivery charges.
Although working out quantities is a bit of an nightmare - and as DH pointed out they are delivered in "bulk" bags not ton bags

We managed to source some gold chippings from a local quarry for half the cost of builders merchants etc. They actually supply most of the outlets around by us.
They worked out our quantity based on the area etc. too. It was delivered loose onto our drive and we paid per tonne.0
