bBC web videos

Hi there

Before the BBC changed their news website etc I could play the videos that were in their news and sport sections.

Now all I get is the circling dots and then stills of videos that they suggest I might want to watch.

My wife's PC is happy to run them, and we're both running XP, with me networked onto broadband through her PC.

Have you got Flash installed? Many of the streaming video's on the BBC website are now done in Flash, so you may need to install or update Flash.
Usually there is a link stating that "you need to install flash, click here" - if there isn't, and if you DO need Flash, you can download it free here.

Strange, I get the option to play with windows media or real player before the video plays, maybe check your default media player, I'm not sure if they use shockwave flash, but thats worth installing too, can you view youtube films, they are flash.

If you can see the circling dots, that means flash must be installed (The dots come from a flash media player).

If you're connecting through your wife's PC, it could be a firewall problem (the flash player has to connect to the internet separately from your browser to download the video).

    Have you tried using YouTube?
