Merry. Anything over £99 they will take a % of so if you have £133 surplus they wil take aprox £70 a mth off you. I would up your clothes as this seems low for a family of 6. I was allowed £20 just for me. Can you do a break down of your other ess as from what i have seen so far you ave not allowed for house insurance, opticians & dentist,tv licence, or have i got that wrong:o .

You are best to make sure you only have a surplus of about £30 as there are some things they may dissallow.

If at first you dont succeed try try again:D

Merry, have you approached Social Services? You have children so they might be able to find you housing which would be cheaper than private.

A friend went to them because she is leaving her husband and has two children and she was amazed at to what she would receive because of the children.

Worth a try. Hope you don't mind me mentioning it.

People on here have been very kind to me so I'm just trying to pay back a little.

    Cheers

    Dalip,
Merry can have a surplus of £274 before they can take anything because of the £175 child benefit which cannot be included in their IPA calculations.

Peachy read the post again esp the bottom bit where merry has taken off the £175 and it leaves merry with an actual surplus of £133:D

    Doh!;) Apologies D x

I'm sure Merry can easily lose that extra £34 somewhere.

Hi Nancy - we did consider it but tbh the waiting lists down here are unreal, and we wanted as minimal disruption for the girls as possible, and this means they can stay at their school.

£30 on top of clothing allowance - £105 for family of 6
£5 on top of essential items - pocket money maybe??

Thanks you guys - tis greatly appreciated. :j
