Hi Merry...its complicated...I did warn you!!
Spoke to a chap called Matthew at CCCS...he was very helpful but having said stop paying unsecured stuff went on to say that I had to continue with mortgage & secured loan...even though in negative equity & I would be happy to hand back keys! As OH went BR already all the mtge & SL could potentially fall to me anyway (totalling 1800 pm) as he rents down south as well its likely OR won`t allow him to pay both rent & mtge pmts!
I have a rental property too & intend to move end May, empty mtged home & just pay rent, utilities & pay DMP ...this options allows me to keep my job.
If I`m honest I don`t care anymore! its all just too much & would gladly hand keys back to N Rock & walk away....so why would I continue paying mtge & SL payments?
Sorry to bore you...my head is going round & I don`t sleep etc

Not sure I have this right. Your OH went BR, but you wanted/needed to go DMP route because of your job?? But if you can't afford the mortgage payments and secure loan payments on yor own, and the OR won't allow your OH to pay towards them, won't it tip you BR anyway??
What does your OH say? I must admit it sounds to me like you don't want to keep hold of the house, so why are you? Wish I could be more help but might be a case of the blind leading the blind  I found chatting to CCCS a bit confusing because they said my H could go BR but I could go the DMP route, but then they said with the joint mortgage, etc I would be tipped BR anyway as soon as the debts fell to me.
Ok, long cool shower, trashy novel, and tuck yourself up into bed. Don't make any decisions while you are feeling the way you are feeling - you need to get some clarity first. Can you write it all out - here, on a blog, in a diary or something so you can read it back and take it a step at a time??Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

The only reason for me not taking the BR route is the job...I was advised BR with OH in Feb but losing 40k+ income was a tough call !
I`ve had to pay everything in household since Xmas & is quite frankly crippling me...OH & I not getting on well either.
Even if I hand keys back & have sole liability on shortfall of equity then provided this then goes into DMP ..I could manage. If I change jobs this opens option to BR at that point!
I am clear on options but for me I lose everything with BR..home, job, income. I am just trying to find the best route through this mess with a degree of `damage limitation` if thats possible.
Bed now!! thanks for listening to me go on...I will post my own thread when I am clear of the way forward for me...currently I am considering all the `what ifs`..hence the apparent confusion. NED CAB watch out ...I`ll be booking an appointment!

Cashminder account set up, as well as a joint cashminder account for household expenses, etc. The man on the phone was lovely, even laughed when I said I wouldn't be taking him up on any other financial suggestions
H needs to ring and sort his out now, and as soon as my card gets here I can get my salary transferred there from now on

Wednesday 14th May
Not physically achieved much today. The cashminder accounts was my big win - the first time I have spoken to someone 'official' about being a bankrupt, so a bit of a weird feeling, but as I say he was really nice.
My headboard arrived today, so that can stay in it's cardboard waiting for the house move. H's sister received the guarantor letter so that should be going back shortly, and I know they have requested his reference so must have done mine as well.
The house fund is doing well - looks like we are 2/3 of the way there in terms of deposit, etc and as long as we stay on track we will have the money for going BR as well. Is so strange - have started dreading phone calls as missing payment deadlines now, and also looking at the post when it arrives makes me cringe.
Tomorrow night H and I are going through the expenditure section of our SOAs to make sure we have got everything straight, and also sorting out the reference for the mortgage, and then I think the paperwork is actually completed - for me anyway. It's harder for H cos he works full time, whereas I only work part time then look after our mini-monster so have a bit more time.
OMG, have just realised my post count is over 200 - I knew I was a gabby mare but not that much
DD2 is doing her SATs this week, so am hoping for a seriously chilled Saturday with my ladies - lots of Mummy cuddles for all three of them. Nite nite peepsGet free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Hi Merry...fellow `late nighter`
I think its actually Wednesday the 14th today...but been long week so far!
Well done on house fund..nearly there already!
Know what you mean about dreading phone ringing & letters....this is my first month ever not paying & I actually unplugged the phone as dreading those `calls`...been through it with OH already this year so not answering them.
Good luck to DD2 re sats..nearly over now.
