Need you help re faulty washing machine. Ta!

I thought I'd better equip myself with plenty of info before we get far down this saga. I somehow have bad vibes about it!!

Bought Bosch washer from John Lewis 22/3, delivered 1/4

Since purchase you have always had to give the door and extra little push to get the catch to secure before the cycle will start. I assumed that was because the seal was new and springy, but maybe not:rolleyes:

At the weekend it wouldn't go (a total pain in the bum when you have an 8kg load of school uniform to do!). F 34 fault code...

Turned off at mains over night....Yup it went sunday am. BUT again Sun pm failed F36 this time.

Again it has worked tonight.

Oh and the concrete is a bit damp ? is it leaking??

Seems to be an intermittent fault in the door mechanism?

Rang John Lewis service no, they gave me Bosch no, and Bosch are coming on Wenesday.

First Q, is this right, I thought my contract was with the retailer??

Second Q should a 28 day old WM do this?? (or is it more than 28 days old, despite the fact that the first 10 days or so it was awaiting delivery to me!) Is it OK to let them repair, or should I be banging on to get a new one??

My biggest fear is that I have a sequence of afternoons where I have to juggle work/kids etc in order to wait in for the repair man for fault that is flippin intermittent! How many repair attempts is reasonable before I say enough is enough?? TBH I have to call in enough favours re work, and CM that I can't do it more than a couple of times anyway.

Oh, and there is a fairly short limit to WM free time with 3 kids one of whom is very sport orientated:rotfl:

Crossing all fingers and toes as this is the first "expensive" WM we have had- before we have had "disposeable" cheap ones precicely because of the stress of getting repairs done. Hopefully JL will live upto their reputation for service- no problems with them before.

Yes, you have a contract with the retailer. You also are protected by the Bosch warranty, which is covering the call out. You don't have to claim on the warranty. If you do it does not affect your contractual rights with John Lewis. However, the engineer is coming out on Wednesday and it may well be that he can sort the problem or arrange a replacement if the machine is faulty; life will be simple again and everyone will be happy. If on Wednesday night you are not happy with the service from Bosch then you can still go back to John Lewis.
