Nice one, but when is the best time to cancel? For example if you did'nt like the mag and did'nt want it anymore but did'nt want to pay?

    Nuts have gone... well... nuts!

8 free issues and 2 free t-shirts for no money! Can cancel at any time. Doesnt say anything about having to pay/cancel after the 8 issues! :)

EDIT - Would help if I added the link:

    http://www.qssa.co.uk/ipc/subs/subsorder.asp?title=Xnt&source=intaj&ctryid=238

when I click subscribe the only option is a quarterly direct debit at £15.30, if I subscribe and cancel b4 the 8th magazine will the direct debit be cancelled or will the direct debit come out initially??

I'm not so sure it's so great a magazine to be paying £15.30 per quarter.

I was looking at this one in store, the problem with it is the direct debit is £11.99 so as you don't pay anything to begin with, you have no way of cancelling before the first direct debit is taken which is £11.99. So as I see it you get the 6 free issues and the gift but then you have to pay at least the first of the 3 monthly direct debits at £11.99? Unless you can ring up and cancel before they take the first direct debit but there's no way of stopping it with your bank!

You can cancel a direct debit before it has been paid. It is especially easy with online banking but still possible with ordinary accounts.

The direct debit will be set up on your account well in advance of the money being taken out. Online it's easier to identify because it will be listed saying something like 'no details available' next to the company name (because no money has been taken out.)

I've cancelled direct debits quite a few times before for different free magazine offers without any problems. :)

Excellent spot! This magazine is a bit too expensive for me to buy, but I've glanced through it before and it has some really good articles in. Thanks again. Jo. :)

no, it seems to have gone funny this morning, it was ok last night! perhaps just a website hitch?

has anyone else noticed that bbc magazine subscriptions can work out more expensive than just buying in the shops? toybox comic is only 99p but a dubscription works out a good couple of pounds more expensive!
