  • It's amazing.. and this site and the people that use it are amazing.

I just really hope I can make a difference to my situation like people on here are...
  • You will, its one step at a time. I always think of it like dieting..took ages to put on and by whittling away it at will eventually reach goal weight.
There will be a few wobbles on the way....
But with firm exercises and no beating up about lapses, will get there!

  • Just a thought, looking at your figures, as the Virgin % is so high, can you just do a BT back to your original card, that would possibly reduce the amt of interest that you would otherwise be paying. Obviously try & sweet talk them into reinstating your 0% offer first, as suggested by others.

    HTH?

  • Thats a good analogy - I will remember that!

Thanks Suzi I did consider moving a big chunk of it back to RBS and phoning to ask what they will offer. I will phone them tomorrow if Virgin really won't budge on this.

Sorry to be thick but what does HTH mean?!!

    Hi Expel,

I think HTH means "Hope that helps". If not then I'm not sure! lol

I do find it quite entertaining trying to figure out what all the abbreviations mean and it does take your mind off your financial circumstances if only for a short while!

    Good luck with Virgin.

  • Ah that makes sense now! Thanks..

I will check Virgin today, then RBS and will report back how I get on!

  • I've been thinking about this (all day)...

    Would this work?

I phone RBS and say I want to do a balance transfer - can they do me a decent rate. They may say no, but anything under 29.9 is worth it? Then I transfer my Egg balance to my RBS. Then I transfer as much as I can from Virgin onto the Egg May 0% offer I have read about?

Would that work and would I be able to do it within the May deadline does anyone know?

    Many thanks for any replies...

You'd need to check with egg that they'll do a 0% offer for you otherwise you could be transferring to a more expensive apr.

If you've been here for 18 months and your debt has increased, perhaps you need to take a fresh look at things...

spending diary - where are you spending your money
make money - daily clicks at pigsback, cashback via quidco, mystery shopping etc.

3 years isn't that long via what's the cost. When I first started my DFD (debt free date) was nearly 4 and a half years away, but it is flying by. And as you are making regular and sustained payments to your creditors, your credit score may improve so that you are able to secure other cost-effective debt (0% or low lob cards). It's quite sad but I like playing with whatsthecost to see how soon we can make our DFD!

    Good luck with it.
