IB50 claim reply

How long do you normally have to wait to know what's happening after sending IB50 form back. I sent mine away on the 19th March and haven't heard anything yet.
I sent one away last Feb 2007 and was told I didn't need another assessment until Feb this year but I can't honestly remember how long it took for a reply.
Thanks

It can take a few months to hear the outcome, it will depend on the workload of your local office.0

last year mine took 17 weeks,it was stuck at the local JC+ as they are only allowed to send so many each week to medical services0

Thanks for your replies
Mine was sent to the Glasgow centre, so I guess I'll just have to wait. It's the not knowing that's the worst bit. I'm just not sure how the system works.
I've been off work ill for 2 years and my job is still available when I'm ready to go back but I wouldn't be able for it just now. I've worked 15 years in this job with no days off sick until now and wish I was well enough to go back. Not only do I miss my wages at the end of the month, I miss my work friends and at times feel cut off from everything.
I'm sure it's the same for us all, nobody would be on IB through choice.
Thanks again
