Economy 10 Prices Up 22.85% !

Latest bill from SSE Hydro shows rates have been upped by alot more than the 14.2% they quoted in the press for electric!,

On Peak going up to 10.59PPU from 8.62PPU, a rise of 22.85%
Off peak going up to 5.95PPU from 4.97PPU, a rise of 19.71%

They have even raised the daily charge by 15% from 22.66PPD to 26.05PPD

Looks like I will be going back to Scottish power as it works out £60 a year cheaper now on my previous comfort plus control tariff.

Anyway they screwed up the first bill and then screwed up the second bill :

No mention of the last 7 months direct debits even on the second bill.

Off peak reading and on peak readings mixed up giving a bill £400 more than it should be. I emailed them after the first bill and they only went and changed the on peak reading to the ammended off peak figure and left the off peak the same which was 4000 units out.

your rate1 on-peak is around 2p cheaper than mine with Sp but I do have a pre-payment meter & have been re-set to Fxd Charge of £7.00 week. hth. Be VERY sure of your figures etc, in this volatile market before swapping. hth.

The 14.2% was averaged across all the electrity regions so some people will be paying less and more.

If you get an estimated billl and call up to get the readings change, the payments wont show on the second bill as they were shown on the first bill.

You will find SSE are more expensive in thier own regions e.g southern and north of scotland so they will be cheaper suppliers around.
