If you don't manage to get a copy you then the website 5minutesaway.co.uk, it is an online directory of facilities 5 minutes away from motorways including hotels and pubs. So all you need to do is print off the info before you set out.

If you want to save some money (over motorway service stations) and enjoy good food and drink, the Good Pub Guide 2005 also contains a list of pubs close to motorway junctions. The listings for each pub include instructions of how to get there too. There are so many poor pubs around that I think that the best deserve recognition and are certainly getting my patronage when I am travelling around. I've not been disappointed yet!
