Plastic thread for kids' beads

I posted this originally on the 'I wanna' board but got no replies, so I hope it's OK if I ask on here, since it is about children's toys!

My children were given a bead kit, which only came with enough plastic thread for 4 necklaces. There are hundreds of beads left and nothing to thread them on to. I could also do with some plastic clasps.

I've searched on the net but in vain. Any suggestions gratefully received.

I got a roll of excellent string from Wickes it is for setting a plumb line but it is fluorescent pink and really strong. It would be perfect for threading beads. I got it for craft projects.

Go to your nearest fishing shop and have a rake in the bargain bin for some light lbs fishing line, then you know it will break quite easily if your kids are wearing the necklace and get caught in something.;)

We've bought beading sets from Hobbycraft. They also do mail order.

They do elastic plastic thread in clear and different colours. We use it for our Brownies and Guides.

Have a look on ebay for 'bead thread' or 'bead elastic'
