hi there, they came up cheapest for my husband too (he has an Audi s8 4.2) getting insurance for him is proving to be quite costly. Swift however wont protect his no claims, so we are still searching for an alternative to direct line !!0
-
Yes, came out cheap for me too this week after many hours of research on Web .. but when you see horror stories like the ASDA/Norwich one on this board ; you have to ask yourself is cheapest best?
There's lots of emails here telling us how much folk have saved.. but what happens come crunch day. I found Esure very clear, efficient and effective after an unknown party wacked my parked car earlier this year; courtesy car was driven to my house and collected and repaired car delivered etc., I know my insurance with esure will go up (and I will obtain some legal protection too given all the idiots around these days)
Do the cheap companies deliver the goods?0 -
Just got Swiftcover insurance for my sister - £300.Next cheapest quote was £370 (Sainsburys). Policy starts tonight...0

Hi
I am with Swiftcover, and it saved me a bundle of dosh!! I saved all my documents and only pront out what I needed to tax up too, so felt better than having a load of paperwork added to the rest!
Some kids in the street were playing football the other month, and the ball cracked my windscreen. I had a £65 excess on windscreen cover so decided to shop around in the hope it would be cheaper elsewhere without affecting my insurance. No-one could help really as it was going to cost in the £500 mark to replace, so I rang Swiftcover and they arranged it all to be fixed at home, with no affect to my insurance and only cost me £65. I am v happy I went with them.0 -
Many thanks silverfoxdude, i was just a bit sceptical about insuring with them as the website looks a bit basic, but will definately go ahead qith them as i drive a hot hatchback and i was getting quotes of nearly £400 which i think is quite a bit for a 28 year old with full no-claims, Swiftcover gave me a quote of £228 which i thinkis fantastic!
Think i will be going ahead with them then! cheers guys for the responses!Savings Total so far for 2026: £0/£10,0000 -
I've had policy with Swiftcover for 8 days. Was lured by a low premium - £40 saving over NorwichUnion. After few days of battling with customer service who did not want to accept my NCD proof I gave up and came back to Norwich. This company is a joke. Would definitely not recommend - I guess low insurance premiums are the result of cost cutting and savings made by employing local undereducated idiots - ignorance and incompetence are the two words that come to my mind first when thinking about their staff. I can imagine what one can expect when it comes to real issues, e.g. making a claim.0

2 in my family are with swiftcover. We had two requests for us to email through our NCD proof and an apology after sending it second time. Very pleasant to deal with.
Would think that post 6 makes it clear they are fine to deal with...seeing as they are the only ones so far that have tested out their worth in a claim.
We've just taken out their travel insurance too.

My insurance company involved in this saga is Swiftsure
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...13#post8823413
and here at posting #33:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=748709&page=2
As you will see there is a posting below it from someone who has been left hanging out to dry for 4 years by an unnamed insurance company.
Swiftsure have been no good at getting the "third party" off my back, won't tell me of the state of play (if any) but still are entitled to increase my premium as a captive customer. Their terms and conditions won't allow me to take over the so called claim and sort it out myself.
I think my previous company Direct Line would have done a better job. But no way would they match Swiftsure's quote.
Watch this space.

I would never insure with Swiftcover no matter how cheap.
I just had a read of their policy wording and there are a few things that stood out as unusually restrictive compared to almost all other insurers.
The most surprising was that if you incur a claim for glass replacement you will not earn any NCD for that year of insurance.
Others:The 'new car' benefit requires that the cost of repair exceeds 70% of the list price (it is usually 60%).
The policy only gives 72 free hours of comprehensive or TPFT European use (usually this is 30, 60 or 90 days).
No courtesy car provision unless you pay for it as an extra.0
