Grants for heating - I have had numerous quotes from CORGY reg gas fitters and 2 from Warmfront registered gas fitters. Warmfront engineers were on adverage 136% more expensive. As a result, it was cheaper not to use my grant of £3000. Some companies are exploiting this grant system and making a killing!!!! Is this grant system funded by the tax payer??

i have been accepted for a grant to cover heating
had the contractors in and they said i needed a new boiler
i asked about a rad in the lounge the present one is a bit shabby.thought i would get this done under the grant
they have given me a quote of £3046 that is to change a boiler and 1 radiator
the boiler to be installed in exactly the same place as the old one
so i have to pay the difference:mad:

surely someone is ripping the scheme off

advertised in our local paper 5 rads new combi boiler installed less than £1000
