Samsonite suitcase - AGGGGGGHHHHH

I have had a samsonite case for almost 3 years. For most of that time the zip has been faulty, due to various reasons never got round to returning it.
As it has a 3 year guarantee I returned it to store who sent it to samsonite. They have returned it unrepaired as they said it was caused by misuse!
I contacted samsonite directly and was advise it was 3 rd party damage, I.E caused by the airline opening my case!
I know it has neverbeen opened by an airline as the zip was dodgy and could not be closed withouta dab of washing liquid. They said itprobhappened when flying to America! I havent been to America in 10 years.
As they say it is 3rd party damage they dont have to repair unless I report it to airline. I havent travelled with it on a plane in approx2 years.
So if 3 rd party damage isnt covered by their guarantee, dont put your suitcase on a airoplane, kinda defeats the purpose of said product.
Any one else any problems with samsonite?
