We have just re-read the bill and they have estimated it........I think they have estimated it wrong, as we have always paid £32-34 a month for the 5 years we have lived here
So, what I am going to do is to put £15 a month in the savings......that way, in 6 months time, when we get our next bill, it will not be a shock if it goes back up. But in the meantime, I am sort of stoozing the water bill :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. :rotfl::rotfl:
Ours is only about £15 a month on a meter. But there are only 2 of us most of the time.
hmmmm.....yes there are 5 of us most of the year.......filthy beggars :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
We're metered and pay only £15 per month, and that I believe is accurate.
The "children" are home sporadically, but turn up and do 10 loads of washing and 2 showers a day while they're here. Otherwise it is just me, and I only do about 3 loads a week......
So I think you're being very sensible budgeting for them to catch up with you0 -

Poor bleary eyed Hypno! I couldn't believe it when I saw the timestamp in the main list, awful! You've taken the kids racing, right? Must be pretty far away to get up at this time, I hope its gone well.
Just read through yesterday's posts, and there are a couple of jawdroppers in there for me:
- say what, you're thinking about spreadbetting? [I'm famous, hurray, La Hypno thought about me in relation to spreadbetting! tra-la] :rotfl: :rotfl: Is this about an offer to open an account? What have I missed?
- and t'other, which is the especially jaw-dropping one, is the amount others on here are paying for water, including families. Ahem. I'm a single person, admittedly I'm at home all day, with client visits (some client visits, numbers are down significantly) and I pay £45 a month!  Imagine a lot of screaming here! I just have to get my act together and re-do my basic soa. Monday is wrecked for attempting the trading, so I'll try and do it on the internet then.
So, thank you! :T Even on the water, that should be about £25 a month saved, if all goes well.

Poor hypno - crazy time to be up and about on a saturday. Hope your day goes well.
Karma - are you on a meter? If not get one NOW! Honestly our water bill fell dramatically when we went onto a meter - like more than halved.
Have a good day all.0 -
Will do, thats a *ton* of money to waste.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi Hypno
Hope you and the children have had a good day!
I had a letter from the water company yesterday (as I suspect did everyone else as it was a standard letter) saying that if I had a swimming pool (yerrr right!) or wanted to leave an unattended water system running I would have to go on to a water meter. I had to return a card saying that I didn't have a pool or want to use a sprinkler system.
However, have been thinking about it - would I be better off on a water meter? I live on my own so was wondering if there was a possibility of a saving there?£1000 in 100 days £175.08/£1000:T0
