Hi
I just thought I would share a story.
This is nothing on the scale of some of the reports here, but anyway...
In January, I wrote a cheque for £130, by my own fault, I went £12 over drawn... but they did honor the cheque.
I did not even know I had gone over drawn and paid in money later... Out of no where, in the middle of March, I got charged £35* for the cheque going over and because I only keep a small balance in this account, I went over drawn and had a £25 fee... I had no idea about this and due to a error on their end, I did not get any paper statements and I could not log on to online banking (maybe someone should sue under trade description... it says 24/7 online banking, but I have had loads of errors!)
*I am confused as to how they come up with £35... I can understand if they did not honor the cheque, but as they did, surly it should of just been the overdraft fees.
I have many other bank accounts and if I had known I was over, I would of paid money in instantly.
Anyway, I rang up Abbey this morning, tried to be as polite as possible and just explained the situation.
I was not expecting the outcome, but they just refunded me everything in full.
Anyway, I am happy, and guess it is not all horror stories!
