Hi there,
Im currently with both british gas electricity and gas, electricity is by quartely bill and gas by payment meter, it seems to be costing me a fortune overall and am wandering am i missing out on any great deals out there?
my last electricity bill was £250, 2 ppl working full time in a 2 bed mid terrace and gas is costing me probably £15 a week.
Any suggestions?

prepayment meters are generally more expensive rates wise. How long have you lived there?
The meter may be set to be recovering £x per week from a previous owner.
Is easier to to talk about usage if you can post actual Kwh / units as prices can vary so much.
HTH
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

Why don't you wander over to the comparison sites in the resource bar?
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
The first suggestion I would make is to look into getting shot of that pre-payment meter, because with that you are missing out all the "great" deals out there. You dont get any sort of discounts with them such as duel fuel, online or direct debit discounts.
Have a word with you current supplier to see what they would do as regards taking the meter out, some suppliers may charge or say they will change it if you stay with them x amount of months. Also be aware that if you get it changed to a credit meter the company may well perform a credit check on you.
Dont be put off if they say they will charge you to change the meter because you may save more than they charge by getting it changed.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
