No colour on Nintendo Wii?????

Help Guys

My sons Nintendo Wii is connected via the Red, Yellow and White Jacks and it works perfectly on his portable tv/video combi. However, when connecting to our 2 newer tv's there is no colour. We have checked the Jacks and they are all plugged in correctly and wiggled them about - even tried it through the scart connector too but stil no colour!!!!!

I have tried changing the AV input - S-Video, Video, Scart etc but still no joy!!

Totally confused as it can't be the jacks because as I said it works great on his portable tv but want it on the larger tv in our conservatory so that all the family can play.

I am sure its something to do with the settings either in the wii or the tv

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully recieved

Thanks

Try changing the AV input using the remote control, it can catch out the unwary. It'll be a square with an arrow through it probably.

  • my tv does the same with xbox - try changing to AV2+1 or something along those lines ... basically flick through all of your AV channels - see if that helps ??

    The reason is this
    50Hz is the UK ----PAL
    Colour Standard
    60HZ is the USA ----NTSC
    B/W in the UK

so set the wii to british/UK/PAL/ and make sure the tv inputs are the same
Sometimes the games are in b/w if you play a US games (its in NTSC format)

    Oh Right!

So, I have now set the wii settings to 50hz but the tv settings are set to 60hz - should I change the tv to 50hz too?

The orginal settings were - wii 60hz and tv 60hz

    Thanks
