Problem with power shower

After replacing the hose on my shower, the pump doesn't seem to work. There's a boost button on the front of the shower which engages the pump, otherwise water just trickles through under gravity from the header tank. So water does seem to be coming through under gravity, but when I press the boost button - even though I can hear the pump spinning as usual - the flow of water from the shower head doesn't change. Adjusting the temperature control (all hot or all cold) makes no difference.

It's a Showerforce 1500XT. Do I have an air lock in the system somewhere? Is my pump knackered? How can I tell?

Thanks in advance!

Edited to add: A new pump will cost just shy of £100 from Showerdoc.co.uk. B&Q still sell the unit new for £140.

When you put the hose back on, did the rubber washer block the hole at all?

I've checked and re-checked that, and there's definitely nothing blocking the hole at either end of the hose.

Sorry to bump this, but does anyone have any suggestions on this? I've got a couple of hours to try and sort it this morning before I'm going out to buy a replacement.

    Hi

Does it work without the hose connected?

No, it's exactly the same without the hose connected. But I was worried that taking the hose off might have introduced some air into the system... is that possible/likely?

    Hi

Changing the hose wouldn't have any effect on the pump. Looks like a coincidence .
Do they do a service kit for that?

Not sure, but I asked about a replacement pump and it's £100!

    Oooohhh, but having said that...

I left it running on basic power (ie without the pump switched on, just a gentle trickle of water coming through) for ten minutes while I had breakfast and when I turned the pump on again just now.... it bloody works!

I guess there must have been some air trapped in there somewhere?

Glad it is sorted, and you were able to have a shower.
