estate agents fees!!!!!!!

this post is really just a rant i suppose but i wanted to see what others thought! If you've ever rented through an estate agents then you may agree:
Currently the banks are being put through court for unfair charges e.t.c in the hope that a fair charge is found, i believe that estate agents should have to have the same regulation where they all have to adhere to a set amount for an admin fee. They all seem to vary so widely and some are just atrocious. As with the banks how can an estate agent justify 100pound+ admin fee p.p? There should be regualtions for this and i also believe estate agents should have to display these fees prominently. For example when you check the right move website it should state on the description of the property how much the estate agent's fees are.
What do you all think about this? As this is a issue i am very angry about and very adamant to do something about!

What admin fees are you referring to?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I did ask MSE Martin whether there was any possibility of this being on his future projects list

Another MSE forum user has set up an online petition so you could maybe add your name to that and pass on the link to others? http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/lettingfees/0 -
But you don't HAVE to sell your house with an EA... and all fees are open to negotiation, especially in today's market with less houses selling...
If it was profitable, then why hasn't someone opened up an EA with a fixed price of say £500? Surely they would have every house in the town wanting to sell through them?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
