Another 5p day but only up to 99p

I thought it was just a rumour but this is now showing on the ebay site:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/sell/0809051TFLD/

I've never known ebay do two offer days in two weeks. This one is only for items with a start price of 99p or less but it is a good deal for odds and ends that you might have around the house.

One tip though if I may, don't risk starting high price items off at 99p, very often on offer days stuff doesn't sell as well as it does on non offer days.

This offer also includes relists, so if you have some cheap things left over from the last 5p day and can afford to drop the price to 99p then you get a second stab at selling.

I did get the email about it, but didn't notice it was for upto 99p (wow! lol) and wouldn't have done if you hadn't brought it here.

I start all my auctions at 1p anyway as it encourages more bidders. High priced items then still go at a high price as an item will always find it's price level due to supply and demand.

Be more cautious around these offer days, prices tend to be lower than on normal days as the listings get clogged with um... less than perfect items so experienced sellers can lose out.

I wish I had your confidence. I keep myself covered as I have been burnt quite a few times. I sell a fair bit in France and I would be in the poor house by now if I didn't set a good starting price.

But in general I do agree with you ...just too much of a chicken.

A couple of times I have pulled items before the 24 hour deadline because they have very low bids and either only 1 or no people watching it.

I have only had to do this once or twice though and once a potential buyer emailed me to ask why so I relisted the item and got a reasonable price second time around.

Most people tend only to bid in the closing minutes of the auction so it is not unusual to see no activity until then.

Watchers are also not necessarily a good indicator of bids, those bidders usig sniper software probably won't be watching the item as well.
