40GB download limit

40GB is alot for general use.

The only time you will get close to that is if you do loads of downloading/streaming of big files on a daily basis etc

Im on the Sky 40gb £5 a month deal. I dont even get close to the limit and I use the interent everyday. I been using Netmeter to montior my usage and I barely touch 10GB if that.

the 16GB package (99% of people will NEVER get any speed anywhere near 16GB!) says, like every other broadband package, "unlimited". But it IS limited, as they have a Fair Use Policy.

You can download as much as you want unless you breach their Fair Use Policy at which time they will write you a straong email, and if you continue they will packet shape you or throttle your badwidth or drop your speed.

So there is no such thing anymore as an "unlimited" Broadback package, and it annoys the hell out of me how companies are still allowed to get away with calling their packages that.

40gB is equivalent to about 8 DVDs, so if you do download movies to watch or a lot of BBCi Player or 4OD, then you can get up that high.
