Vauxhall Corsa - Whirring noise?

Ok, i'll give as much info as I can to see if anyone can help us. We have a vauxhall corsa (N reg i think - will check when i get up) and every now and again there will be a whirring noise coming from either the engine compartment or behind the dashboard. Now the problem is we can not check it when its stood still mainly…

also check to see that there isnt any trim under the wheel arches rubbing or possible to rub when at speed or turning. look out for clean bits,this is where it will be rubbing.
