Unable to attend Jobcentre to sign on due to flu.

I am currently suffering from the flu. I am due to sign on for my JSA. I won't be well enough to attend the jobcentre so will give them a call to explain the situation. What will happen?

If you're well enough to post here, you haven't got the flu, believe me

I don't know what would happen if you rang to say you were too ill.
When are you due to sign on?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
just tele them and explain that your arent well, they make just make you a new appt, they may ask for a doctors note, but they are obviously the best people to ask0

I *think* you can have 2 absences from signing on in a certain period of time. Call them up and they will just give you a new appointment for 2 weeks time.
I'd recommend going to sign on though if you can as one day you might really be ill and wish you had gone this time
Edited to add~ Just found this....(taken from CAB advice site)
If you are ill when you are getting Jobseeker's Allowance
If you are too ill to sign on or meet the other job seeking conditions while you are claiming Jobseeker's Allowance, you should let the Jobcentre Plus office know as soon as possible. You can be ill for up to two weeks and still get the benefit. Also, you can be ill up to two times in any period of six months without it affecting your entitlement. If you are ill for longer than two weeks or more than twice in any six months, you will no longer be able to get Jobseeker's Allowance. You will have to claim a benefit for sickness or disability instead. If you get better and become capable of meeting the job seeking conditions at a later date, you can make a new claim for Jobseeker's Allowance.
Also the bit that I have underlined counts for single days ill too. So if you call them this week to say you can't sign for flu, then call again in the six month period for say a migraine then next time you call for a sick day they will make you aware that if you don't sign on they will stop your benefit.
I had it happen to me and I had to go and sign on with a cracking migraine and hardly able to see what I was signing.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Thanks for that. I am ill this time. I'm not due to sign on until Tuesday so I'll see how I feel then.0
