Can anyone recommend the best long stay secure parking at Manchester Airport?
We'll be travelling there from the North East, and looking to drop the car off around 4.30am, so the less stressful the better
We've always travelled from Newcastle airport and had lifts from family, so we've never used airport parking before.

Alternatively why don't you look at staying in a hotel with parking included. I know that's what I'd be looking into if I was flying so early. Quite often the hotel and parking comes out about the same as long stay at the airport.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

Last few times I've used Budget at Carrington http://www.manchesterairportbudgetparking.com/ have also used Airparks at Handforth Dean http://www.airparks.co.uk/manchester-parking/manchester-airparks-services.html (both very easy to find coming from east to west on the M62, and absolutely no problems with either).
I moved from Airparks a couple of years ago - think they were taken over by one of the holiday companies - had cut down on the buses - every half hour instead of 15 mins and generally seemed more miserable. Budget are a more recent operation and much more friendly (if you're up for a bit of banter at 5am!). Only drawback is the customers - they stack up 6 or 7 cars, do a "follow the minivan" to the parking spots then get you on board for the airport trip. Last trip was a yawn waiting for one family who took a good 10 mins to park up and decide they'd removed everything they needed, and a couple of trips back to check they'd locked the car, extracted the kitchen sink, phone a friend etc...
You might get a quid or two off booking through Purple Parking (don't think Airparks are signed up though).0 -
I would highly recommend using these. They do a meet & Greet service, where you just drive to the Airport and 10 minutes before you get there, you give them a call. They meet you at the airport and take your car for you and on your return, call them when you get your last bag and they are waiting outside for you.
Excellent service cost about £65.00 for 15 nights. Can not recommend them enough, especially if you have children. No getting on buses with cases or havening to travel from a car park!!.

We used the Airport parking valet service last time we flew and it was brilliant. Drove in, dumped the car at reception, signed a form and went to departures. No faffing with looking for a space and lugging cases for miles or waiting for lifts.
That said, they could have taken our car anywhere to park it after we dropped it off but we aren't really that precious about our cars and we don't drive anything anyone would really want to nick.
It cost us £40 for a week and was definately worth it as it would have cost us more than that in taxis. It was also freezing the morning we arrived and they had the car running for us so it was nice and warm when we got in

Thanks but it seemed really expensive as we need a hotel room for 5.
My parents are away the weekend before we go and they are not collecting our dog until around 7-8pm the night before we go. We decided it would be easier to go to bed after the dog has gone and then get up and drive during the night.
Thanks for the other car park suggestions. I'll check them out this afternoon. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I used budget as well at Carrington.
Excellent service and quidco possiblilty as well i think.
The place is secure and has loads of brand new Hondas on the way in to it so if its good enough for them!
The bus pickup and drop off was very efficient.
They drop off at the Manchester airport trainstation so its just travelators into the main terminal complex.
I will be using them again.
£2 a day i think.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
I have used the budget car parks where you travel by bus from the car park to the airport when I have gone away without children and can't fault them. I wouldn't choose to use one of these if I was going away with my kids though as the hanging around with my luggage and tired or excited kids doesn't do it for me!
Last time I went away with my family we used this company where they meet you at the departure drop off lane and collect your car from you and park it in secure parking. When you return they are waiting for you with your car so no worry about finding the bus with kids and luggage in tow. I paid £45.50 for a 10 day trip and it was worth every penny.:smileyhea0 -
Thanks Adrian for the tip on Elite Parking...
I have just booked with them only £35 meet and greet for a week... still can't believe how good that is.... the man is very nice too who I booked with.

Life is sometimes a bit pants but occasionally you can wear your french knickers!0 -
Last time I used one of Skyparksecure's better offerings where you just drive to the airport and you are met there and your can taken away for you. On returning, we just picked the car up from them at the airport. A bit more expensive, but very hassle-free, particularly when you are travelling with little ones and wish to be sure of things like baby seats, etc. - there's nothing like having your own!0
